The 2014 IFDS World Championships in Halifax, Canada acted as the first qualification regatta for the Rio 2016 Paralympic Sailing Competition.
Eight Single-Person Keelboat (2.4mR) spots, five Two-Person Keelboat (SKUD18) places and seven Three-Person Keelboat (Sonar) slots were allocated to the following nations at the 2014 IFDS Worlds:

The remaining places will be taken at the 2015 IFDS Worlds set to be held in Melbourne, Australia from 26 November – 3 December 2015.
As host nation Brazil automatically receives an entry into each event.
